Fight the Flu: Have a “Hot Toddy” or some “Lemongrass Tea”

Today is National Hot Toddy Day! A hot toddy is a delicious drink made with honey, lemon, hot water, and the spirit of your choice (usually whiskey, brandy, or rum). It’s the perfect way to warm up on a cold winter day, and a few sips can also relieve cold or flu symptoms.  Growing up back in Guyana, a nice cup of Lemongrass tea did the trick, but with the flu season hammering down upon us, coupled with the cold temperature, a hot toddy is a  sweet alternative.
So make a nightcap, curl up on the coach, sip and enjoy!
Happy "Hot Toddy" Day!

Lemon oil may be used in aromatherapy. Researchers at The Ohio State University found that lemon oil aroma does not influence the human immune system, but may enhance mood.

Thank you for sharing this tip Tambra. In Guyana we make lemon grass tea for the flu as well.
