When Dr. Chandra Niwaz was 50 years old she took a life-changing step and went to Acupuncture and Oriental Medical school and at the age of 55 she graduated. Currently, at 61 years of age, Dr. Niwaz has her own very successful practice in Tennessee, USA called Memphis Acupuncture Clinic.
Dr. Niwaz earned her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree and a Bachelor of Professional Health Studies from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine in Orlando Florida. This four-year program consists of 2,600 hours of education including 870 hours of clinical practice and 420 hours of herbology. She is certified as a Diplomat in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). This includes certification in Clean Needle Technique. She is also a Certified Tension Point Therapist, Cranio-Sacral Therapist, Acupoint Injection Therapist, and NADA Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. Chandra has also worked in the operating room since 1992 assisting physicians with surgery.
