Dr. Shaneer Reed received a scholarship to study medicine in Cuba and in 2012, at age 25, she returned to Guyana and began practicing family medicine at Charity Public Hospital on the Essequibo Coast. he however, aspires to become a pediatrician and shared the following with the the Guyana Chronicle.
“I have a passion for children; and generally, in Guyana, there are not many pediatricians, and certainly on the Essequibo Coast there is a need for these doctors. I am more than happy to help fill this gap.”
