10 Dec: Congratulations to Hon. Justice Yonette Cummings-Edwards on her appointment to Chief Justice

The Hon. Justice of Appeal Yonette Cummings-Edwards was appointed by President David Granger to perform the functions of the Office of the Chief Justice in Georgetown, Guyana.  In a statement to News Sources Guyana Justice Cummings-Edwards said  “I am honoured and humbled to be nominated to provide the functions of Chief Justice”  She will replace Chief Justice Ian Chang after he retires on December 15th. Justice Pam B. Jackman Brown has an accomplished and quite decorated history. Born in Springlands, Berbice to Charles and Olga Jackman, she is the second child in a family of six children. A young Justice Brown went to Smith’s Church Congregational School and Tutorial High School in Georgetown before returning to Berbice to finish her education.
