Janice MacGregor is a first-generation Canadian of Guyanese heritage. She recently won the title of the very first Miss Regal World; a new online pageant that welcomes females from around the World to compete at an international level.
No stranger to the world of pageantry, Janice was the winner of the 2007 Miss Saskatoon 2007 title. She also won Miss Saskatchewan International 2007, Miss World Saskatchewan 2008, and Miss Petite Saskatchewan 2009. Janice has held the national title of Ms. of Canada 2015/16 and International Ms. Canada 2018. At the International Ms 2019 pageant in New York City, she placed in the Top 10, won the Determination Award, and the Best in Evening Gown Award.
Janice was born in Edmonton Canada to Berbice natives, Frank Moorgen (RIP 2010) and Mary Moorgen (née Deonarine), but moved to Saskatoon Canada at the age of 11. She graduated from Bishop James Mahoney High School and was offered a scholarship to the University of Alberta but opted to attend the University of Saskatchewan and Saint Thomas More College where she graduated with High Honors. Janice is also a member of the Golden Key International Honors Society.
A model and actress, Janice’s platform is epilepsy awareness, due to her own battle with the neurological disorder that can cause unpredictable seizures. Janice is able to keep her seizures under control with medication. She plans to use her reign supporting epilepsy awareness groups and fundraising for girls’ education in developing nations; two causes that are near and dear to her heart.” Back in 2016, GGR caught up to the busy beauty queen, when she vowed not let epilepsy define who she is.
In her spare time, Janice enjoys knitting, traveling, and listening to music. Her favorite artists include Elvis, Backstreet Boys, Nickelback, Randy Travis, Five Finger Death Punch, and Reba McEntire.
