Jarienn Amaris James has just become a graduate of New York Univeristy Law School having earned her Juris Doctorate. She pursued her J.D. after graduating from the University of Guyana earning her LL.B in 2011. She has set her sights on working in the Children Advocacy area of Law and has taken the opportunity to earn many skills in this area as she attended the Brooklyn Law School before going on to New York Law School to earn her J.D. in a two-year honors Program.
Some of her practical experiences have been working with the New York City Department of Education’s Office of General Counsel Special Education Unit as a New York Law School Fellow. She has been a Legal Intern at Advocates for Children of New York Inc., and at the Legal Aid Society Juvenile Rights Practice in Brooklyn.
Jarienn has also worked with UNICEF and the Guyana Association of Women Lawyers and with the Impact Center for Public Service Law & Diane Abbey Law Institute, NYLS as a Fellow and Research Assistant.
Born in Guyana to proud parents Bryan and Glenyss Adams-James (former CARICOM Secretariat stalwart) Jarienn is now looking forward to the next step which is taking the Bar Exam and we wish this stellar legal eagle much more success in her bright future ahead. She counts the support of her family and Christian beliefs among the reasons for her success and strength.
Congratulations on all of your achievements Jarienn. You Rock!
