Nine-year-old award winning author and poet, Anaya Lee Willabus, will be launching her second book, ‘A Bully’s Disguise.’ Anaya Lee published her first book ‘The Day Mohan Found His Confidence,’ at the age of 8, which earned her five awards, as well as local and international recognition for her outstanding literary contribution.
A Bully’s Disguise, sheds light on peer pressure and how it may influence one’s decision in elementary school. Mohan, the nine year old main character, has to manage school friendship, sports and home, while trying to understand the cultural differences around him.
Today, Anaya maintains her outstanding academic standing at school while tutoring first graders, writes for ‘Forum Kids Magazine,’ plays soccer and holds a brown belt in Shotokan karate. Anaya was born in Brooklyn, New York to Guyanese parents, Dimple and Winston Willabus of Georgetown and has two siblings, an older sister and a younger brother.
Join Anaya as she celebrates another historical book-launch event on June 24th, 2016 from 6pm at Brooklyn Borough Hall- (Court Room).
