Guyana female table tennis champion, Chelsea Edghill, was awarded a partial scholarship to attend Lindenwood University in Saint Charles, Missouri. According to a Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) Press Release, the scholarship covers five years and will allow Edghill to train, play and participate in high-level competitions against top level players on a consistent basis in view of achieving 2020 Olympic qualification. Edghill, a Bishops High School Student, has won several championship awards and was named the 2013 Junior National Sportswoman of the Year She attributed her receipt of the scholarship award to hard work, sacrifice and the support of her parents.
